Thanks for rectifying me, Naveena. I have deleted my previous post.

Arrey, I just mentioned! Effect of not adding a smilie...you deleted the post
? Hi folks
What happened was that a new member found an old thread started by Noodle called What is this bird called? in the Dogs, Cats and Langurs forum. He posted a bird question in it. To avoid confusion for him and all the bird-watchers and bird-experts I merged that old thread with this. I kept the name Which bird is this, and it is still a sticky and still in the Wildlife forum. But because Noodle's thread was older, her name appears as the thread starter.
Well-spotted eagle-eyed snonymous

I know, I know!!
I thought that he had shared a photo with the attachment missing. I had not seen that the new look thread has the photo of an eagle as the first photo now. I guess I should have added a smilie!!

(post mountain travel syndrome I guess

Yes..yes and yes.
That place is a heaven for birders. I spotted oriental white eyes, white capped water redstarts, a female scarlet minivet, quite a few parakeets, flocks of little forktails, loads of bulbuls of various kinds, russet sparrows and a few others I cannot recoginize (I'll ask for help here
).I had actually travelled to a place called Kakragad to watch birds, and had quite an adventure while returning.

I'll post the bird photos in my TR shortly.

Hmm I don't know why but for a while I do not get any updates on this thread. Then I start missing it. So I check after searching for it and almost always find that it has grown by a couple of pages.
These days I have a zoom lens and I am off to Bharatpur soon. So hopefully I will find new birds that I don't identify.
About the merging of the threads I just noticed.
I used to like the fact that I started something that became so fabulous. But that still remains. Let us enjoy this thread for years to come.

Mridula, you can rest assured that for the regulars on this thread, it will always remain only MRIDULA'S BIRD THREADYoo Hoo Julia,
Please, pretty please, could you put Mridula's name as the initiator of the merged thread, and Im sure I have everyone else's vote on that including Noodles?

I will keep a watch there

That looks lovely!

Once you get the update in your inbox, you need to log in on IM and check the link. If you don't, then, further updates would not be shown in the inbox, atleast that is what I have noticed in the past few days. Later, you may have to search for that thread and then check the posts. Once you log in and check the posts, you again receive the updates! I myself lost track of what I wanted to convey

My vote assured

I can echo that. I've been reading this thread silently for years. It is Mridula's bird thread, and also RWe's and snonymous's and vinathorat's and happyarun's and ... and ...

Sorry I can't.
As the posts in Noodle's thread were made earlier they appear before the posts in Mridula's thread.

Mridula is back in her rightful place, via some jiggery-pokery
I realised that the merger had messed up the numbering of posts and so would be very confusing where ID's had been given for birds in a particular post. So I took out Noodle's thread and closed it, directing people to this thread.
