I use this book by Grimmett, Inskipp and Inskipp.

... A bird that. obviously, paid a great deal of money to a professional to get it's portrait photograph taken in a studio.

The catch of this morning....a Treepie..

Thanks Nick. @ Maumi - a rufous treepie, to be precise, as opposed to let's say the grey treepies that are plentiful in Pelling, Sikkim.

I had a juvenile as pet few days back till it grew strong enough to fly away.

Here are a couple of birds I captured in Meghalaya in October.
The first in Shillong town... A Grey wagtail ?
I saw the second bird in village near Cherrapunjee. Our local guide said it was a wild hen....A Khalij Pheasant ?
