Tiger Reserve

Hi,

Can anyone recommend a good trip from Chennai to anywhere in North India with a good tiger reserve that includes tigers? We are not good with zoos so would be grateful for any advise for a safari.

Thanks so much
Jules

By Elephant or Jeep? Just tigers or any other flora/fauna/avifauna that you desire to see? How many days do you have, total, for trip?

I'm sure some experts will be along soon to help.

Thanks for the quick responce.
Looking for a long weekend at the end of September, Mrs Jules and I are quite adventurous and our 3 year old may love the idea of an elephant safari but I guess a jeep would be the best way.
Maybe the season is wrong as far as monsoon?!

I think Somnath's suggestion of Sunderbans is indeed the only one that is open in the month of September for potential tiger spotting. And that would be by boat only, not by jeep or elephant. October gets you access to Ranthambhor, Bandhavgarh, & Kanha, while November will add Corbett & Kaziranga as potential choices.
