Thanks Prakaant.

aarosh, you will have to explore macro shooting! You see so many creepy crawlies which make for good macro shots.

Naveena, isn't that a chameleon? It might think it is invisible against the onslaught of the macro-mode camera.

Fing, is that a scorpion?

I meant from your camera not the one in the mobile! Serious photography.

..
ViShVa, some names of that colourful lizard - Oriental Garden Lizard, Eastern Garden Lizard or Changeable Lizard!! I was a bit lazy to find the correct id when I posted the image here!

I am not sure if it really thought it was invisible but now that you mention, I am seriously considering that as a possibility.

TD, Loved the Mantis Pic!! I was lucky to sight another mantis during our Trip to Akshi beach!! It is Nature's 'artistic' creation!! It is so beautiful!!

Violin Mantis!!

AND, what else did I see and even took into my hands?

A Buff Stirped Keelback snake. Of course, it was ID-ed first by an expert and was assured some 100 times before I mustered a bit of some courage to delicately hold it in my hands for a few seconds!!

Here's another angle (BTW, that's not me holding the snake )

Wonderful photos, Naveena

I caught a glimpse of a snake slithering past the front door when the garden was flooded in the recent rains. It was in a hurry, and moving amazingly fast. I stopped going barefoot in the floodwater that day, and got the boots out of the cupboard!

Many Thanks, GP. You all were very helpful always. Now I am a bit used to my SLR and am really enjoying photography. Best part is, I have almost given up on shooting in auto-mode.

Somnath and another school friend have been helping me off IM too, in getting the confidence and to experiment with various modes of shooting!!
