Oh yes, A separate thread for the 'SQUIRRELS'! Those cutie-pies definitely deserve it. Taking Sagarneel's suggestion seriously , here is a dedicated thread to these friendly creatures!

Squirrels belong to a large family of small or medium-sized rodents called the Sciuridae. The family includes tree squirrels, ground squirrels, chipmunks, marmots (including woodchucks), flying squirrels, and prairie dogs. Squirrels are indigenous to the Americas, Eurasia, and Africa, and have been introduced to Australia. The earliest known squirrels date from the Eocene and are most closely related to the mountain beaver and to the dormouse among living species. More here

May be, all of us have so much to contribute to this thread and we could get to know a lot of things about this being. My contribution to start with -

I think there's an offline conspiracy going on to keep me off work and concentrate more on IM!!!

Love those cute creatures....they are just like little kids - impatient, cute and very very lovable!!!

I'll post a share a few Delhiite suirrels here. Taking photos of squirrels is challenging as they are very busy animals, but fun since the return is very rewarding!

Here are some the Delhiites Naveena, I never had idea how agile a creature can be! Many shots finally showed it's tail only as it was escaping from the frame.
It did made us impatient, but see they can look idle too.

Yeaaaaahh!

I did not know, so many would be interested in taking the potographs of 'Squirrels', too !

Vaibhav, snonymous and PG, those are lovely squirrels!

@PG, even i have been frustrated many a times chasing these cute little ones! Atleast you had the tail in your frame, I would manage only grass or a stone here and there !

Edit: How could I forget this 'mouth-wide-open' squirrel clicked in Badami?

I have a whole album in fb called 'Cats, birds and squirrels' ...although there are only few photos of cats (or maybe a particularly sweet cat....I, for some reasons don't love cats) in that album, there are plenty of squirrel pics there. I make it a point to photograph squirrels (if I find any ) everywhere I go!

This frustration actually led us to click them even many more for both birds and squirrels . Squirrels can traverse in a 2D path at a time but you know birds they can in 3D, so even bigger challenge!

Lovely, to say the least - snonymous!!

That is no cheating, at all! I wanted you to post this photograph, hence I had the title right from the beginning 'SQUIRRELS and more' - 'NOTE' - right from the beginning !

sagarneel, now I know I am not only 'nutter on the loose'!

I have many, many more but enough for now.

Squirrels, cats, monkeys, birds, any animal, they are delightful and make for such lovely pics. Wish they would stay still and pose - like flowers!

I think the 'more' gives us room to share photos of any animal!!

Naveena: Does 'more' include humans too??

Now I have thread where I can post the photos of animals of Delhi zoo!
