Ranthambhore Accommodation - Ranthambhore Bagh or Jungle Niwas
Hi there
I'm looking to go to Ranthambhore over Christmas and am looking at staying at either Ranthambhore Bagh or Jungle Niwas. Has anyone else stayed there or has someone got any other places to recommend? Thanks!! |

On the plus side for the Bagh is that you've got Aditya and Poonam hosting you.

Ranthambhore Bagh gets my vote. The reasons for my vote are:
1. Aditya is a wildlife lover and have great knowledge of wildlife. 2. Aditya can arrange some really good guides for you, so you do not end up getting stuck with a extra body in the jeep. some of hte guides I saw in Ranthambhore were just plain horrible. One of them was sleeping and driver was giving the commentary to the tourists. 3. The Bagh staff is outstanding. They went out of their way to help their guests. 4. Food. I love food as much as I love wildlife. Ranthambhore Bagh cooks made sure I was never disappointed. 5. Campfire, wine and stories. :-) 6. No TV, phone, net, radio in the room. So you do not get bothered with what is happening in the world. They do have a common computer that you can use for email/photo upload etc. 7. Good collection of books. I can not comment on other hotels, but from what I experienced at Bagh, it is well worth the money. Cheers, Kartik |

Gufa,
I am not sure about other places, but rates tend to be in a range of 3000 Rs to 8000 Rs, depending on the kind of accommodation you choose. For Ranthambhore Bagh, you can try their site which lists the current rates. I would have posted a link to their site but I am not sure if it is inline with the forum rules, but you can google for Ranthambhore Bagh and you will find their site. Cheers, Kartik |
