Ashwarya, good to know that you had a leopard sighting in chilla range.

Can you give the link to your picture ?

Would anyone recommend visiting Rajaji in the morning (6am to 9am) or afternoon (3pm to 6pm)? To my understanding these are the only times available. I will be going in late May, so my main concern is heat (it seems like morning time would be cooler). Also at which time do less people visit normally (if ever)? It doesn't seem like there is any way to walk through the park with a guide, only jeep, right? Finally, do I need to book anything in advance?

Thanks!

Also Ronak can you help me with a few queries

- I will be travelling single. Is there a possibility to get a safari on a per head basis OR one needs to hire the full-jeep and pay the full price?
- I am planning to go this weekend. Is it a good time to visit?
- Finally when can one expect to have better sightings? Morning or Afternoons

Any and every help is highly appreciated.

Generally per head basis safaris are not there but you can always club with some other visitors after reaching the safari starting point. But beware that not everyone will have same interest & same patience.

Right now it will pleasant. Sighting wise I cant give more info. as we had gone in April start. I think birding will be great right now. Mornings & Afternoon both will be equally good. Try to take as many safaris as you can as wildlife sightings are always difficult to come by & the more time you spend in the jungle the more chances you will have of spotting wildlife. Elephant herds are the most common sightings at Rajaji. But many of them have spotted Leopards also. If you find Elephant herds just stay at one place & enjoy watching them especially if they are with babies. If you are sharing a safari vehicle then others might want to rush & they will not stay at one place.

Sorry no idea about public transport as we had hired a car from Rishikesh. If you are interested & have the time do try Bungee jumping at Jumpinheights Rishikesh.

Ronak.
