Around 8 Hrs drive...
I did not fully understand the dread term "Terminal Illness" until I saw Terminal 1 D of Delhi Airport.

From Haridwar there is a direct train to Ramanagar (nearest railway station for Corbett) though not on all days. It takes five hours for the journey.

I know both parks are closed but i'm trying to decide between Rajaji and corbett. I'm leaning towards rajaji as I am on my own and rajaji seems easier to get to. In lonely planet it said that some tour operators can arrange safari even tho the park is closed. Could someone point me in the right direction or pm me some numbers of people to contact. Thanks in advance

I have PMed you Parvez's contact who is the driver cum guide at Rajaji. May be some buffer zone areas or some adjacent areas will be open for safari, don't know exactly.

In Corbett Jhirna & Sonanadi Wildlife sanctuary will be open for safaris during current season.

Hi,

Sorry for the delay in reply since I as out of Mumbai for some time.

We were there in Mid-April & the heat was bearable at that time. Also when you are in the jungle it's little cooler than outside. So I would say ignore the heat factor.

Your PM is not enabled since you have note made minimum no. of posts. Once you do that your PM will be enabled & then I will be able to PM you Parvez's number.

If you want to take more than one safaris then staying at Rajaji will be advisable & if you want to take only one safari then staying at Rishikesh will be better since you can cover other sight seeing sport from there easily.

Hope this helps.

Ronak.

rajaji national park visit in May 2013

Hello everybody,

Could anyone possibly give me information regarding Rajaji National Park in terms of opening times and if possible can you do a half day safari? Is this worthwhile?

Can I also get details of a guide at Rajaji?

Thank you for any help which would be much appreciated.

Regards

Bhav

Hello,

How was your visit? What national park did you visit in the end, I am planning to visit both but just a half day safari at Rajaji and four day at Corbett. Is there any advice you could offer regarding your visit?

Hope you had a great visit.

Regards

Bhav

If you are already coming to Rishikesh / Haridwar then it is worth going for half day safari in Rajaji, otherwise not. Try to go to Rajaji first & then to Corbett if that suits your itinerary. Check this link for details of safari.

Since you do not have min. no. of posts can not send you guides details by PM.
