You were extremely lucky to witness the drama between Tiger & Bear but now luck seems not be on your side. Have patience & it will surprise you again with another once in a life sighting.

You must be aware that image taken by Aditya Singh on 9 th April won him first prize at Sanctuary Asia Wildlife Awards.

Well...Just back from Rajaji National Park...And it was a disappointment...and i am not talking about no tiger sighting as i wasnt expecting any...but place does not seem to have a feel of Jungle either...could hardly hear those typical jungle sound...rather it was just dusty and too many jeeps on the same strech...God save the forest !!!!!

I did not fully understand the dread term "Terminal Illness" until I saw Terminal 1 D of Delhi Airport.

I have been trying to arrange a tour and possible over night stay but reading through this forum as I only have two days in Haridwar it seems I might be able to just turn up the first day see the sights and also book a safari for the following day? Or would you recommend I book in advance or stay the night? I come end of May. Also can I be pm any guide details? Thanks!

@Jotravels, Have sent guide contact no. by PM. There are plenty of gypsy available at the Chilla gate. However if you want good driver cum guide it's better to book in advance.

I will start in Haridwar, have a day there, next day go to park and then to Mussoorie. So is it better for me to go back to Haridwar or go straight to Mussoorie? How far is that?

Park Safari is early morning 6-7 AM types and afternoon 2.30 PM ... so if you go to park early morning you may leave for rishikesh in the afternoon and try River Rafting there...and if u are interested in adventure sports drop Rajaji NP and head for Rishikesh...Trust me u ll not regret

I will be ending in Rishkesh so was thinking.... Haridwar for the day - sleep in Rishkesh - go to the park - sleep in Rishkesh - to Mussoorie and spend a couple days there then back to Rishkesh. What do you think? What is the best way to travel this? There are no trains, bus? Or local taxi's? How much do you think they would cost? Also what time should I arrive at the park for a Safari then? 5.30am?

Thanks!

Guys, Rajaji is not that bad. I would say it has a lot of potential. I just missed seeing a tiger and I was there only one drive. The problem though is that there is only one track and there are many jeeps. SO unless you are the first one off the blocks you can be certain of a bellyful of dirt.
That being said, I would say that Rajaji is a good place to spot leopards and in season elephants, and if lucky tigers.
