Nagzira Tiger Reserve- A Trip Report
Nagzira
Is it possible to combine the Bor WLS and Navegaon NP with a trip to Nagzira??
I intend to visit Nagzira in early june. Also how crowded is the park?? On principle,i generally do not visit crowded "star" parks like Bandhavgarh,Ranthambhore,Kanha ,etc

yes i think it is possible to club Bor and Nagzira, because both can be approached from Nagpur, though Nagzira is closer from Gondia. Navegaon is good for bird watchers, though too much outsiders transformed the park into a daytime picnic spot, so please don't expect too much from Navegaon.for stay at Navegaon, Sanjoy Kuthi (log hut) inside the core area is the best option, though you have to drive 3 to 4 km to get a cup of tea even in the morning or evening. Food is also available in the canteen, situated near the gate of sanctuary (distance: 3 or 4 km from Sanjoy Kuthi. So its essential to keep own car round the clock with yourself. Other accommodations are closer to gate and near the main road, so not good for enjoying the forest environment.
photos of Sanjoy Kuthi, Navegaon. The Treetop wooding bunglow is situated in the bank of Navegaon lake and deep inside core area. We spent a single night, which was a romantic experience.the place is frequently visited by leopards ( one of them visited during our stay also at around 4 am, marked by alarm calls of langoors and spotted by our driver who was sleeping in the jeep just infront of bungalow.)

Reason: error in information
some day visitors visit Nagzira. Lack of administrative control and bar in use of diesel cars is a real problem in Nagzira. But if one can manage to stay in log huts inside the park, you can have a real romantic experience of Indian Forests.
Can you pls email me ur contact no. at adibanf1@gmail.com?? I am planning to visit Nagzira next yr,probably in May-June. Thanks.
Actually,pm'ing it would be easier. Sorry, have been an idiot

sorry for my late reply
you can stay out side of the park, just beside the village. otherwise you can contact the forest deptt for booking of holiday homes or loghut.

We are planning to visit Nagzira... Can you please let me know the Jungle safari cost in Jungle Zypsy inside Nagzira...? Also please assist by telling the guide charges and park entry fees (if any).

Rs. 2000 was for per round or for full day ? ... per round, the driver was good.
What were the accommodation charges ? 2900 for single room or 4000 for double room with AP meals
What about sightings ? the forest was too dense (high trees like in some parts of Kanha, high grass...) so we saw only deers and one jungle cat.
It should be better between march to may.

didindia7, thanks for your reply. Sighting of Jungle Cat is very rare, we saw one in Bijrani zone of Corbett during late evening. Was planning to visit the place during 26 th Jan weekend, but the cost seems to be more or less equal to the more famous tiger reserves. Considering the costs it's better to visit the place in summer months only when you will have better sightings.
