| Nagarhole - Taxi advice needed Hi I was wondering if anyone can help me, we have booked a night at Water Woods resort in Nagarhole in January. We will be heading there from Mysore and from research I think we will be able to get a taxi to the restort easily enough for 1200 INR from Mysore. However afterwards we need to get from Water Woods to Ooty. I was worried that taxis might not be so easily available from the resort so asked them if they can provide one for me and they have quoted me 6300!!!! This seems off the charts ridiculous and I am wondering if they are taking me for a ride (no pun intended). Can anyone help me with a sensible way to arrange transport from Nagarhole to Ooty? Should I arrange it from Mysore before I go to the park? I was hoping I could get a cab for the same price (1000-2000 INR). Any advice would be greatly appreciated. |

| How many days are you staying at the resort ? If you call a taxi from Mysore, they would charge you Mysore - Nagarhole - Ooty - Mysore - even if you dont use the return leg. If your stay is for a day or two, then one option could be to retain the taxi from mysore all the way through ooty. ribhu |

| One Night Since you are staying just one night it might be more economical as previous poster indicated to keep the same taxi. Pay for the overnight (probably driver, plus taxi). You are right that it will be far more difficult and perhaps more expensive to call for a taxi to the resort to take you to Ooty. Have you looked at the bus option? I too stayed in Nagerhole at another resort. Though the buses were limited (due to a remoter location) I was able to pick a bus up front of the resort to take me to where I needed to go- Mysore. I don't know Ooty however. Of course the bus ride is not as good as a taxi, but far more economical and entertaining. Good luck

| Hi Thanks so much for your reply. We are only staying one night at Water Woods (to do the afternoon and morning safari). So perhaps we should get the taxi to take us and stay with us from Mysore - Nagarhole - Ooty. Do you have any idea of how much this will cost us? It will be 3 days. Thanks |

| I would predict a wide band - 3500 INR to 4500 INR. I am sure someone would come along and give you a more precise estimate. cheers ribhu |

| Hi Thanks so much for the reply. That is really helpful and reasonable for 3 days, I nearly fell off my chair when the resort said 6300 (just from the resort to ooty) We would look a the bus option but we are on a tight itinerary and want to get to Ooty as early as possible to look around.
