Mudumalai in Feb.

Hi there
Just wondering if anyone has been to Mudumalai NP in February. The guidebook says that the park may be closed in Feb and March as it's the dry season. Is it closed every year or does it depend on the season? Is it closed for both months? Has anyone stayed in Masinagudi at this time in one of the tree houses and still seen lots of animals? (the website says that the tree houses overlook waterholes) Is there more chance of seeing animals in the dry season near these types of waterholes? And last question, am I better off going to Periyar at this time of year?
Thanks for any responses...

I did actually search the site before I posted and no-one had mentioned if the park was definitely closed during these months or what the chances of seeing wildlife from the treehouses was like...

But invariably Mudumalai NP was closed around that period every year and always I read in News paper a week before or so , Due to Water scarcity inside the NP the park would be closed between XXXX - YYYY period. It's not for a Fixed duration thou ..

I do stayed around Masinagudi / Bokkapuram in resorts but not in tree houses thou.

Hm yes. I guess you've looked around the web for it as well then? Many parks and regional tourism boards will offer sites indicating closure times. How reliable those are is always another matter...

Try http://www.tamilnadutourism.org/ , but it offers little conclusive. You could try and contact them though.

Anyway, let's hope someone will be in with the answer.
