The heartthrob of thousands of Tiger lovers, Machali (T-16) is probably the oldest and most photographed wild Tiger alive.

At the age of 15 & having lost all her Canines, to many of us, her end seemed nearer and the writing was on the wall. However, I sighted her last week and am pleased to share the news that she truly is rocking ! She even manages to successfully hunt Chitals / Sambhars / Wild Boars at this age.

This was the first time in many years that I’d sighted her walking head-on out in the open with direct eye contact. She even had the audacity to roar out mating calls to lure the dominant Male T-25 of her adjoining territory when I sighted her for a good 40 minutes. She might have lost her canines but doesn’t seem to have lost her grace & charm ! Long live the erstwhile Queen of Ranthambhore ! Truly blessed to be a part of a spellbound audience of Her Majesty. Pardon the poor IQ (low resolution images), the forum doesn't allow larger high-resolution files.
