Hi all,
We have already planned and booked 5 nights at Kanha in Mid October 09. Earlier we thought that we had only 5 nights and decided to only visit Kanha to avoid too much travelling, but now we realise that our leaves can be streched by a 3 nights, so i have total of 8 nights to spend in Madhya Pradesh but i am not sure which place to visit. I am thinking of staying for 3 nights at Panchmari but realise that the distance between Kanha and Panchmari is around 337 kms that will translate into 8 hrs of driving hence not very keen to do that, unless the place is a must for nature lover. And not very sure the distance from Panchmari to Nagpur for taking my return flight to Mumbai. Can you please suggest any other destination where i can spend three nights in Madhya Pradesh or Panchmari is the best option.

Had a good "Tadoba" trip
|
Hi Monk Traveler,
Both Panchmarhi and Kanha are heaven for Nature Lover. Even it is monsoon time, I just came from Tadoba national park and had 4 round of safari but did not get chance to see Tiger (Lot of foutmarks and Barking call but No Tiger ). I think Kanha is remaining close till 15 Oct so just check it out your dates and confirm it with MP Tourism office.Have you figure-out how will you goto Kanha from Nagpur. I guess below route is suitable for you, you can change first/last stations accordingly.

In February we stayed some days in Amarkantak, a nice combination of nature and religious sights.
I don't know the exact distance from Kanha, since this also depends on the place you stay. I estimate that it will not be more than an hour of two. We came from Kawardha and had to cross the outskirts of Kanha to reach Amarkantak. |

Thanks rushijoshi and vonkla for your views.
Panchmari is out because of the travel distance from Kanha & Nagpur and Amarkantak looks to be a very nice option and i am checking the logistics.. |
