| Hello all, I'm leaving for my first trip to India in a week and I have a newbie question. My girlfriend and I will be spending 3 months (May-June-July) mostly in North India (Delhi, Rajasthan, UP, Bengal, etc.). We are very keen on seeing at least one national park or wildlife reserve on our trip, but not sure which one we should plan around. After experiences in Ecuador, being in a rich overgrown jungle is what we're after, and seeing elephants is a MUST-SEE on our trip, tigers would be nice as well, birds not so much. Any ideas/suggestions? thanks in advance! |

| There are quite a few options along India's northern half. Here are just three of them, placed in order of merit (In my opinion of course! 1.Kaziranga 2.Corbett 3.Ranthambore |

| You should consider getting your Safaris completed by the end of May. The access to the parks start to wind down in June depending on the onset of the Pre-Rains/Monsoon. Remember that Ranthambhor, albeit a very beautiful park, does not have Elephants - wild or for hire.

| Corbett is the suitable option. It is very easily accessible from Delhi and sighting elephants is nearly guaranteed. But if you want one of the best experience of seeing elephants anywhere in the world, head to the Jungle Lodge at Kabini. It is going to cost a lot more but worth the money. |
