Good Travel itinerary. There are Air tkts available for around Rs.4014 from Guwahati - Chennai (Check yatra.com). May useful to you after your long trip to reach Chennai.

I am not sure about Manas (Kanha-more and more chance for spotting Tiger). Let me know if you have any forest guest house & Guide details to stay inside Manas forest.

I have palnned for my 6 days trip only to Arunachal to spent time on West Kameng Pakhui & Eaglenest wildlife. Let me know more about Manas Wildlife if you have any details. Thanks-Ottakoothan R

1.Ranathambore
2)kanha
3)kaziranga
4)Manas.

Ranathambore :
Because i sheerly beleive this is the best managed park in india offering internet booking of jeeps. It also offers lot of wildlife . .oh did i say TIGER.
Just back from Ranathambore. Check again, this year no online booking available. we have to go 4 AM in the morning to book Safari.Jeepsy was not available only canter which cost 325/350 ( for Diesel/Patrol). if possible try to reach weekdays, on weekend it is over crowded.

Request for Zone 3 or 1 , probably you will see tiger (T17)

If you see map it look more appropriate to go kanha first then to Ranathambore.

Hi Santosh,

A Great Wildilife Vacation, dont forget to share us your expierence.

Ranthambhor for 3 Days is best.
I would advice you to visit Bandhavgadh instead of Kanha, reason is it may save your one day as connectivity with Bandhavgadh is more easy then Kanha and it is good chance to Catch Tigers in Bandhavgadh. Kanha is towards sooth from Jabalpur (Near Maharashtra Border) and Bandhavgadh is towards North-East of Jabalpur and nearest rail head is Katni where all trains stops.

Jabalpur - Kanha (6 hours Drive), Jabalpur - Bandhavgadh (2 hours drive)

I also suggest you to goto Kota from Ranthabhor and take Train for Katni from Kota, as Roads in MP are not good and you will save lot of time.

Sharing your Safari @ Kanha. Dec is pick time so you can share your Safari with others.

Kaziranga and Manas , I was in Guwahati but because of bad weather I was not able to visit Kaziranga. But it is really good place.

Regards
Rushi

Thanks man.I wanted to avoid bandavgarh as it gets crowded. and barasingha is there in plenty in kanha. It a great treat to watch them. One more thing my Great Indian safari is postponed indefenitely due to my bhutan visit. But one day i will defenitely do this and will keep your points in mind.

Ohh Sorry to hear that, but anyways Bhutan is nice place too...

And you can still to the Kaziranga as it is near by Bhutan.

I was there in Dec - 2007 and had good time there. At that time weather was supporting except very remote places.

Wish I had seen this thread earlier...maybe I could also have joined for Bhutan.
Bhutan is a great place to visit and is a must visit in my list....maybe next year.

For this year, I have planned for Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya this December starting from 19th Dec onwards till Jan 3rd.

Arunachal Pradesh & Meghalaya in December 2009

Cheers!
