I was in Kaziranga a few weeks ago. More than 20 rhinos were killed last year. Every 3-4 weeks there are another killings. Poachers are really well equiped and park guards have no cars and only 100 years old guns. I'm not indian so I must pay huge money to go into the park. Every day being there I was wondering where this money goes. You can't see any improvement. This info is good, but the first need are good jeeps and really new guns. Guards said to me that they simply need AK-47's to become a reall threat to the poachers. What does it mean: "better rifles"? They will have now 20 years old guns?
Radjesh, I can't listen indian people saying, that's it's not so bad, that You hope it'll be better soon... etc. If You don't start to scream to Your gov. that the situation is really terrible, nobody will care. |
