Hotel resort tiger safari in Ranthambore NP - jeeps?

We have booked (and payed) for 2 nights in early november at "Hotel Resort Tiger Safari" in Ranthambore NP through Aamantran tours.

When I mailed Aamantran tours about booking safari they answered that it's 1600 rupies/person/safari.

Now I wonder if itīs cheaper to book jeep directly at the hotel, or book it myself someway. We want to take 5 tours with jeep.

Definately book it yourself. Cost is Rs647 per person per safari in a jeep.

Tiger Safari Resort will probably charge you something like Rs100 to sort out each of your safaris and get the gypsy jeep to come to the hotel to pick you up.

Make sure it's a Gypsy, don't even think about a Canter, the difference in the experience you'll get is huge.

I should add that booking Ranthambhore safaris is simple.
Don't go for all day safaris though, book morning and afternoon safaris instead.

So should I e-mail the hotel now and make them book already?

The site for jeep-booking

http://www.rajasthanwildlife.in/make...ailability.jsp

does not show any availablity for jeeps in november. Maybe itīs just too early..

Thank you very much for your help.

If you mean 'should the hotel book the jeeps for you' then no, you do the bookings yourself using the link you've found. Booking through an agent or the hotel will only ever cost you more money and booking is quite simple.

Yep, it's 90 days in advance I think, or maybe 60?

If you haven't paid any money for the hotel yet then I'd recommend the Raj Palace Resort which is quite close to the Tiger Safari Resort.

We have paid the hotelroom already.

So it is 90 days - that is great to know! I will book jeeps myself then.

Thank you for your help :-)

We almost stayed there; I believe it's quite similar to the Raj Palace resort and I'm sure you'll have a good time. There pool looks nice and we enjoyed having a swim between safaris - although it's a lot hotter in April.

The link for jeep-booking does not seem to work anymore:

http://www.rajasthanwildlife.in/make...ailability.jsp

Anyone know if it's just temporarily down or if the adress has changed?

Thank you very much for your help

try this: http://www.rajasthanwildlife.in/make...anyourtrip.jsp

EDIT: looks like you can't book at the moment so I don't know how anyone gets a place for the first week or so after the park opens.
