An update :

Room charge of Hollong Tourist's Lodge has been increased from Rs 2500 to Rs 4000 Per Night from 16th Sep 2017. Now the new room rent includes complimentary evening snacks , dinner & morning Elephant safari for 2 persons ; Lunch is optional ( Rs 300/- Per person ).

** Tourists who have booked rooms through online portal (@ Rs 2500 Per night) , have to pay the extra amount at the reception of Hollong Lodge before checking in.

Elephant safari charge has also been increased ( for tourists staying outside the park & not in Hollong Lodge) . The new charge is Rs 800 per person ( Earlier it was Rs 600 Person) .

A new way of marketing. Not much increase for people who are anyway taking the elephant safari. Management have ensured that tourists have to take the safari compulsorily.

I think elephant safari could have been excluded from this package. New norms are not at all suitable for those who want a longer stay at Hollong, say for 3 days.

Hi AG,

On 28th of Oct and 29th of Oct 2017 I was staying in Hollong Forest Bungalow. Luckily I get Room #5 Kingfisher and #6. I thing Hollong Forest Bungalow one of the best staying accommodation in the forest all over the India. But I saw you post an image of Room No. 5 ( Hornbill ), I think you have some mistake, Room No. 5 name is Kingfisher not Hornbill.

Hollong Forest Bungalow all rooms name mentioned below:

Room #1 HOLLONG, #2 TORSA, #3 MALANGI, #4 SISSMARA, #5 KINGFISHER, #6 FLORICAN, #7 PEACOCK, #8 HORNBILL.

Need some more information about Hollong from your end !! Please post some more snaps ...
