Been to both the Niagara and the Victoria Falls and found them both incomparable!!! Each one has it's own beauty so none of them can actually be compared for a #1 spot or prize for the best water fall!!! Would love to visit the Jog Falls and the Chitrakote ones too. Just seen the Bhilar waterfall near Panchgani which is the second highest in India(?).
Cheers, Aadil.

Nice to see this thread broadening to a general discussions on waterfalls in india!
I have seen Jog & Athirappilly. thats it. Viewing a waterfall from close quarters is an awesome experience. Would like to visit some of the other falls mentioned in this thread. starting with Hogenakal - have seen it in a couple of movies. Roja was one if i remember correctly. I missed the mandatory niagara trip while i was in US... hope I get to see some of those great latin american falls one day as well. ladyvetphd, thanks for starting this thread ![]() |

nice pic - yes, a little more water please
![]() Since the discussion is on waterfalls, here is the wikipedia page on the subject: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waterfall Look at the types of waterfalls mentioned. So what category does each fall fall (!) into? I would say Athirappilly -> block |

but i like this waterfall
it does not have a name. but its off munnar-cochin road see the scale from the size of full siz tree on the right side of fall http://www.pbase.com/rverma/image/46833669.jpg there is bridge at the base of this waterfall and you can hardly talk to each other on that bridge. lot of water was coming on the bridge so could not take many pictures from the bridge http://www.pbase.com/rverma/image/46837138.jpg Last edited by machadinha : Mar 14th, 2008 at 15:13. this one is really cool. when its in full swing, your car gets a power wash thank fully only on one side and you get horrified inside the car. two pictures, first one from few km away. second one just before crossing the fall
