Was surprised to see dozens of waterfalls of varying sizes in the hills on the road from Mumbai to Poona this August. This was because of the monsoon. I've done this journey in dry weather in the past, so the greenery and waterfalls were awesome.

Around Kuttralam or Courtallam in TN are numerous waterfalls, and near Papanasam is Agasthya Falls, a 3km walk.

Hogenakkal Falls meaning "smoking rock"

Hogenakkal falls is pretty impressive too. You get coracle rides there too.

Caveat: It all depends upon how good the rains were.

IRPU FALLS in Karnataka is one of the least explored ones in India.

Irpu Falls lies at the base of the brahmagiri range near Nagarhole National park in south weat Karnataka, contigous to the Tholpetty Sanctuary in Kerala. It's 222 kms from Bangalore

Kourtalam and Athirapally are two of the most beautiful falls in the south India
