Going to Kanha and Bandhavgarh

Hi ....
I am planning visit Kanha and Bandhavgarh around the first week of March 2005.
I am a regular visitor to Corbett for the past 3 years. I go there every year at least twice and stay at Dhikal or Gairal. Gairal I like even better than Dhikala.

I have been to Ranthambore, Sunerban and Betla (in Bihar). This time I am planning the Bandhavgarh and Kanha trip.

I was planning to stay in the MP Tourism hotels - White Tiger Lodge(Bandhavgarh) and Bagira Log huts ( Kanha).

I will be thankful to anyone providing any advise on the following:

1. How are these two above mentioned hotels ? I hope they are not in a crowded place. How is the ambience ?

2. Are these close to the park ?

3. Any recommendations on any good Guides/Drivers for the park trips ?

A few answers:

Bandhavgarh: MP Tourism, like any other state tourism establishmnet. I wouldn't go there for ambience. It is situated just by the park. Crivers will be provided by MP Tourism along with your vehicle. You can't hire your own guide, a guide will be assigned to you before you enter the park. Most guides are more than competent. I wouldn't worry about getting a poor guide.
