first visit to Corbett Natīl Park
Hello! Looking to hear from someone with direct experience staying overnight at Corbett Natīl Park and/or elephant safaris. Do you recommend the stay or making other arrangments? Any advice/feedback would be most welcome - Cheers!

hi,
i have stayed twice inside corbett at the rest house dhikala, run by KMVN. It is located 30 kms inside the park. the drive from the main entrance to dhikala is really superb...you have an excellent chance of spotting wildlife...deers would definitely be your no.1 sighting. the dhikala complex is well located at the banks of the ramganga river & gives spectacular views...don't miss the dawn..at the machan...overlooking the waterhole & river.the safari...both elephant & jeep are worth the effort as you get really good views...ideally take elephant in morning & jeep in evening. the food is pretty good..rooms are at best satisfactory...but normally its full..it would be advisable to book at least 1 month in advance at KMVN website. it is highly recommended. hope you have a great trip! |

Dhikala booking
We stayed in Dhikala in 1993, a long time ago I know, but the location is very good, right inside the reserve. We stayed in the dormitory accommodation then but now, with a teenage daughter, we wanted to book a forest rest house. Managed to send a fax to The Director, Corbett Tiger Reserve, fax number that worked was 05947251376. I rang a couple of weeks later to check that they had received it, (Tel. 05947251489). The lady there said that they will confirm on 15th November whether we have a room or not. But she also mentioned that they might be moving to online booking, so not really sure what's going on there?
I was wondering if we should think about booking jeeps before we get there or is it cheaper to wait and do it from Ramnagar? |
