Thank you Kausiks, he bird was kind enough to choose a branch near our jeep and then sit there for a few minutes posing well. So all I had to do was to click a shot and I am so glad I used a new zoom lens for his trip.

While in Kanha a few months back, I was running after the Neelkanth/Indian Roller to get a decent photo of it, especially while it was flying. The colors are amazing. Unfortunately the photos that I could manage were far from satisfactory. However, in Bandhavgarh I could manage a wonderful crested serpent eagle to somewhat compensate by earlier attempts.

Lovely pictures.

Kausiks (or anyone else) by any chance can you identify these two birds?

Didindia7 thank you. When I searched for Treepie on Google images I recognized the bird. But not sure about Shikra, it seems to have white patches and I actually have another picture of it. This bird has no white feathers like Shikra.

Hello, for me it's a shikra female (yellow eyes). I have many pictures from this bird (mainly male ones).
