the picture is not so clear to give clear distinction between the two. the head and jaws are not clearly visible. The alligator's upper jaw is wider than its lower one, and the teeth in the lower jaw fit into small spance in the upper jaw. The upper and lower jaws of the crocodiles are the same width, and teeth in the lower jaw fall along the edge or outside the upper jaw when the mouth is closed.

there are no gators in India. So no matter which place is this, if its in India, it has to be Crocodile.

India only has Crocodiles and there are Gharials which are quite common in north-central and found no where else in the world....,

Do u people know that the largest living Crocodile is in India! It is 23feet long from snout to tail and weighs approx 2 tonnes and inhabits Bhitarkanika National Park in Orissa. There are in thousands of Saltwater Crocodiles on the eastern shores of India especially in the delta region.

The Guinness has accepted the claim.
