Corbett
Hi,
I'm hoping to visit Corbett around 4th/5th January. Looking for recommendations on where to stay. An elephant ride would be nice. I'm particularly interesed in staying for a couple of nights at Dhikala camp, right in the entre of the park. However, it seems that the forest rest houses there can only be booked as part of a package tour from Delhi, which I dont want. I read that there are basic dorms/log huts type of acommodation also available. Has anyone stayed at these basic dorms at dhikala camp? Is there anyway of reserving or do I just show up? Thanks |

Try calling some other time & may be a day or two later.
Alternately Fax them your request stating the dates & then call again 1 - 2 days laterr & talk giving ref. of your fax. These are govt. departments so keep on contacting either ways till you receive a favourable reply. Also try contacting Dehradun office. Their no. is on the later part of the thread. Ronak. |

Corbett bookings
didindia7 I have a problem with my indian agency. They say that I have to wait february to book 3 nights at Dhikala. Is it true?
I thought that it was better to book in advance... That is indeed surprising. I have always booked in advance through my agents and have never faced any problems. If you like, you could contact them and see what they can do for you.Their web site is www.joint-adventures.com.By the way I am off to Corbett on the 15th of Jan!! Let me know if I caould be of any help. HH |

Thanks for your confirmation. I received today an email from KMVN tourism, I forwarded it to my indian agency, they say it's possible to book.
I will try your agency if they don't arrive to book. Normally, I had no problem with my agency (first time I have), it's amazing because teh agency is located in Mumbai like you. |
