Corbett Park after 15th June

What are the options available for someone who is going to be in Uttaranchal after 15th June (the date after which the park is supposed to be closed) and still would like to be a part of Corbett Park experience.

1. Whether entry to some section of park/gate is still allowed after 15th June, if yes, where and how?
2. What other things could be done / is available in those places.

Thanks in advance.

Come back after 15th Nov. Seriously.
If u go in June u can stay outside the park at a fancy 'resort'. They'll take u fishing, on nature-walks, dinner around a camp-fire, that sort of thing. But June will be hot.

I also suggest you to avoid Jim corbett. More then 80% of the visitors are not satisfied specially considering the amount of money spent. In summers moving in open safari jeeps will be steel all the thrill. November may be much better time.

Most resorts are very costly, and u will never see Tiger or other thrilling animals.

This is just one opinion. Our own personal experience differs from it in every respect. Not only did we see tigers, but also found the park one of our highlights. Do not know what the source of 80% dissatisfied visitors is - but I am highly doubtful.

We did not visit the park in the summer. There are good reasons that the park is closed during these months. The road into the park goes through some areas that are dry river beds during most parts of the year, but impassable during the monsoon seasons due to flash floods as well as the debris left behind from those floods. Same is true for several other 'rivers' in the area - such as Kosi river near Ramnagar.

In fact, while staying in Dhikala (not costly at all), we heard that the lodge is often trashed during the summer (closing period) by the elephants.

To sum up, your timing does not allow you to enjoy the park. However, the general indictment of the park by pksdn is quite suspect and to be taken with a grain of salt.
