Corbett assistance

Hi

We am planning a trip to Corbett on August 18th and 19th.

We would be a group of around 10 people. (By the time, everything is settled, 3 to 4 are expected to back off

)

1. Can we pitch out own tents in the park? Is it safe? do we require any permissions?
2. Where did you folks stay?
3. How easily can we spot wild life? We don;t want to go wandering around "hoping" to see a cat
4. Best times of the day?
5. What arrangments are available? to stay? food? guides? transport?
6. We are coming from delhi? Best way to travel to Corbett?
7. Any other suggestions/advices?

a) who told u that corbett is open in august? only jhirna (a small part of the park is open)...

b) i stayed at dhikala, gairal, kanda, sultan jhirna bijrani on countless occasions..

c) incase u dont want to wander around..better u go to zoo..coz wandering around is a pivotal aspect of viewing wildlife..let alone Catchin a glimpse of a tiger.

d)people say evenings.mornings..i say anytime!!

e) don't expect hi-fi arrangements atleast in forest (govt) rest houses.. specially at jhirna.(although i love that place too).. NO ELECTRICITY..I REPEAT NO ELECTRICITY..nd not becoz govt cant afford it..bt in order to maintain the environment and the ecology..
f) best way to travel..catch a train from old deli railway station..corbett link exp..at 10.30 PM.
g) ITS NOT AT ALL ADVISABLE TO GO IN GRP OF 10!! ( MY EXPERIENCE SAYS ITS A WASTE OF TIME, ENERGY AND MONEY)..

)- good take people who are interested in wildlife else if you are going for frolic then why stay inside the park there are good hotels outside too

2. Where did you folks stay?stayed at the riverside lodge which is outside another time at FRH Gairail and best is the Dhikala guest house

We don;t want to go wandering around "hoping" to see a catcorbett is the toughest to see the tiger as the vegeation is high large parts are hilly and there are no radios allowed, in other park if one jeep see a tiger they radio the others regarding the spot this is not done in corbett.. BTW deer, elephants are also wildlife which you will get to see
