Hi Pankaj!
I'm not aware of any especially cheap backpacker type safaris. A lot of India travel agents do offer wildlife/safari holidays but they seem to me pretty expensive for the average backpacker. You could however do it pretty cheaply by yourself or with a friend/s. If you can rattle off a bit of Punjabi or Hindi and don't look too obviously NRI you shouldn't have a problem paying the park entrance fee for locals which would save quite a lot of rupees. There are usually some budget priced hotels in the vicinity of the National Parks and all can be reached by train or bus.You could also decide what kind of money you want to spend per day and then check around with travel agents in UK and in India to see if anyone comes close. Hope this helps. |
