Assuming you are asking about the STD code....I believe it's 02140-69. Though don't quote me on it since I didn't dial it.

changed telephone code

2 suggestions

there is an on-line telephone directory, click on the following link and then click on Umaria (tala is in the district of Umaria, MP) then where it says select district scroll down and click on Umaria (typical india) then click on go.

then select name, address or telephone number, then put in the details and it should give you all the info you need...(well, in theory )

the following link is for Madhya Pradesh tourism, an e-mail to these people or a telephone call should get the information you need.

Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation Ltd.

good luck

Amazingly enough, it worked. But I had to work backwards using the STD code which is 7627. Tala is in the Shadol> Manpur telecom circle and all old numbers take a 2 before them. Thus 6xxxx becomes 26xxxx.

Thanks very much for the info, much appreciated.
