Any news about the situation in the Keoladeo?

Can anyone suggest a goog guide??

And a good hotel, 10 to 20 USD, clean, silent, near the park?

I don't remember the place where i stayed the very first time.exceptional. A very beautifully built hotel with an old-style wooden look. Exceptional service and food. May be it was SunBird. It comes on the same side as the park entrance, within 2 kms from the park. It is easily the most good looking thing in the area. It looks like a restaurant with just a dome, but there is a garden behind and the hotel rooms are behind it. If anyone know the place, please post the name.

I had been to Bharatput last weekend, spend 2 days there.
Keoladeo Ghana National Park is buzzing with activies,
lake full of waters, and the road full of tourist/bird watchers.
They started boating now.Though migratory birds din"t come yet.
The good news is the Road from Mathura to Bharatpur getting repaired,
so it took only 40min drive from Mathura.
After 3 years dull ,the park is full of water, don"t know next year the rain god will help the park for water. So anyone wants to see Bharatpur this is time to go!!

Thanks

Thanks Radz for the update, I will go this season as last year I missed it, as I had heard the water was less and so were the birds. I will also speak to the guide you took this time, to find when is the best time to go.

Kaushiks: I would love to stay in the same Hotel. Someone please help me with the name, else I will look like a fool describing the hotel to ask where is it.

Thumbs up Great season

I was at Bharatpur over the last 3/4 days including the new year eve. There are a lot of birds and it is very fine out there.

It was little foggy on one of the days but rest of the days quite clear. (Tip: start your day late if it is foggy)

Thanks Radz, I had contacted B.S.Rana, though he was already booked so he helped us by recommending another person Prakash who was also fine.
(B.S.Rana's no. had changed I will post the new number)

I stayed at Sunbird some 100 mts. from the main gate a nice place to stay and great food.

I will also post some latest pictures!

Send a message via ICQ to npjai Send a message via Yahoo to npjai
The ITDC Hotels are not particularly well run and are very poorly managed. Be Warned.

Delhi to Bharatpur directly?

Hi everyone
I'm completely new to this forum and it does seem a very vibrant place to be. You can feel the excitement of visiting a new place and the feeling of taking a 'trip' because going somewhere entails more than mere travelling, it's absorbing the cultural climate, attuning oneself to the differences and above all, continuing the inner journey that makes one a more whole person...

Well...

Presently I want to visit Bharatpur and would like to go there directly from Delhi...would bus be better than train? And where do you stay...a budget place with hot water with reasonable priced food...and would taking a rickshaw be the best option to see the right spots?

Do you necessarily have to go via Agra to reach Bharatpur?

Well...thanks in advance

Sid
