Bharatpur

Is there a "best" time to do Bharatpur? I think I read that there are more birds post monsoon. I have a choice of being there either at the end of November sometime or around mid February.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Many thanks

bharatpur (keoladeo)

How is this Bharatpur? Birds around in sanctuary in November? Is bike riding (bicycle) good there? Good safe trails?

November is good . December And January is the best time to visit Bharatpur.
There is a good rain after 3 years in Bharatpur. I am sure everybody will enjoy Bharatpur .
Bike is the Best for Bhratpur Bird Sanctury. But you don't find any man to repair your flat tyre inside the sanctury.

Well, the trails are a bit rough in places and as indiaguide says if you get a puncture you may have to push your bike back to the park entrance or your hotel.

The main advantage in hiring a bike is that you can get away from the main tarmac track and therefore from most other visitors to the park. November is not the best month but it's still pretty good for birds.

It looks very good to me just from the photographs (even minus the birds) peaceful and scenic and away from the city. I don't mind walking !

Walking would also be a good way to explore the park. I've only been able to walk in one other Indian park, with an armed forest guard, and that was in Assam.

Indiaguide, I can tell when I took the picture as I have the photo album still in front of me - January 1996
