Between Pune and Mumbai

Hi,
I will be in Pune over the weekend flying out Monday. I was wondering if there are any wildlife parks between Pune and Mumbai. I know the expressway that stretches between the two covers a mountainous area but from looking at the maps I have I do not see much. I also see a lot of lakes in that area so it seems like a good wildlife habitat. I am mostly interested in photographing the wildlife. Does not have to be just apex predators but that would be a big plus.

I have a bit of time so it does not have to be directly along the express, but relatively close as I don't want to spend all of my time driving.

if you use the expressway, you can't stop & walk into these areas for photography. a better option would be use the older highway, so that you can get off the road where it interests you...
