Best Wildlife Parks (September)?

Hi,

I am visiting Rajasthan and Kerala in September and would like to know if anyone has any recommendations regarding wildlife parks in (or near to) these states?

I have read that the Ranthambore Park offers the best chance to see tigers (which, let's face it, is what we all dream of!!!), but it is closed until 1st October, by which time I will be in Kerala. Just my luck!

So, any advice gratefully received!

Ian

I'll be visiting Periyar (http://periyar.indianvisit.com/) in late November, so I can't recommend it yet, but it looks great!

Maybe a little detour but!!

Hi I honestly can't see you seeing a tiger in Periyer.
The timing I'm afraid is against you!!
Most of the parks don't open until 1st October, I wish I could help as sighting a tiger is a wonderful and humbling experience and not to be missed.
You could of course miss out on Kerala this time but I guess you've got the itinery planned by now!
Oh well there's always the "next trip"

If you're willing to forego Kerala then Bhandavgarh in Madhya Pradesh is a great place to see a tiger most of the people in Tala last year caught a glimpse at least, we were there for a week!!

Sorry about that, maybe our South Indian members have something in mind???
