Best south Indian park for elephant viewing and riding, etc
We are taking a south Indian tour in January with my elderly (but very active) mil, fil, my two children ages 5 & 8, myself, and my husband. Also poss my foster Tamil daughter, age 18.
OK. So we have our own car and will be driving this leg of the tour. I really, really want to see elephants - both in the wild and in the training camps, do an elephant safari if possible (with such young and old people), etc. However I have to take into account my children (very excitable, loud boy and timid girl) and my in-laws (who are very active and travel internationally extensively, but are in their 60s and 70s). I am considering all budget ranges. Which is the best national park (means: most amenities) for at least viewing the elephants, if not riding them? thanks, SAHM |

Mudumalai has an elephant camp. Nagarhole is, to me, the best all-sound camp, and has an active pop. of wild tuskers.

Try Elephant riding : where to get a proper education ? Bottom line I guess: It won't come easy. But where there's a will... who knows.
