Bandipur safari lodge - travel options

Hi,

I intend to travel from Mysore to Bandipur Safari Lodge (Jungle Lodge).

1. What public transport options are available?

2. I have heard that buses travelling from Mysore to Ooty stop at Bandipur. How far is the bus stop in Bandipur from the Jungle Lodge Resort? Is it at a walkable distance?

Hi,

There are buses hourly to Ooty from Mysore from Mysore Sub-urb bus stand from 07:00 am until 12 Noon and after that the frequency is less !

Mysore to Ooty bus will cross Bandipur-JLR[ This is just on the side of the Highway itself] and then proceed uphill for 2 kms and approximately Bandipur Bus stop / Bandipur NP Entrance [ Both are Same] is atleast around 2.5 to 3 kms from Bandipur - JLR !

As there are no Autos Or anything available at Bandipur Bus stop, before Boarding the bus from Mysore, Talk to conductor/ Driver and ask them to stop at JLR !

Note : - Majority of the buses in that route will stop at a "Motel" which is just adjacent to JLR-Bandipur for refreshments ! Anyways Cross-check before boarding as walking back from the bus stop to JLR is not advisable as it will be deserted and probability of Wild Elephants is there !
