Yes i went out morning / afternoon, full jungle meals, and a guide, I paid for a whole package for two minus air fares, first bandahgarv, then Kanah and finally onto Jabalpur to see the marble rocks, pm me if you like I`ll be pleased to give you a contact name to get prices in either resort for you, but for the whole holiday, for two people i paid well under a £1000.

Arranged the India part of the trip through a guy in India, I`ll pm u his email, rather than post it in open forum, I flew out of Heathrow, I always fly BA, always have done for my travels feel happy with them, just book direct through expedia. Flew into Delhi, though I know the military base in Jabalpur has flights going into it at times, u`d have to check that one. Picked up my girl friend in Delhi, couple of days there then sleeper train to get to Bandhavgarh, got of the stop before Jabalpur, car collected us from the resort, to Bandhavgarh, then 5 nights there, car from resort to Kanah, 5 nights there, then new year in Jabalpur, and train back to Delhi. The resort sorted out all park trips all included in price which cut out all the hassle for me as I just paid the one person for the lot.

I can`t get the pm to work either if you look at my profile, it has my home page on it, email is on there, drop me a line and i`ll send his address to you if you want it..

I think Air Deccan fly to Jabalpur - Kingfisher fly to Indore and from there connect with most places, though it can be a bit of a journey. My hubby travels back and forwards to the park and to get from Jabalpur to Chennai at New Year he took a Kingfisher flight - his route was crazy - Jabalpur - Indore - Nagpur - Hydrabad - Chennai!! But everything went on time and there were no trains for days so this was our only option.

Otherwise, train to Katni is about 100 km from Bandavrargh and the local train gets you nearer (30 KM) and stops at Umaria Station. Depends on your route, time available and budget.

Apparently the park is quite quiet now and not so many visitors.

Hi,

I visited Bandhavgarh during peak tourist season (1st & 2nd January 2008)and Stayed at WHITE TIGER FOREST LODGE (MP Tourism). They charged 20% extra (peak season rate). But the ambience, the food and overall service was really good. During summer months (April-May), chance of tiger spotting is maximum and I would prefer an AC accomodation.

i would always prefer White tiger forest resort of MP tourism. my experience with them was good. Air Deccan has direct connection to Jabalpur from Delhi and it starts at around 9-10 AM from Delhi.
Better to take a taxi from Jabalpur to Bandhavgarh and the drive is around 4 hrs.
i have details in my blog about the charges for entry into the park and other details.

New Zones in 2008-2009

I saw somewhere on this site that there will be new zones open to tourists in Bandhavgarh NP from 01 October. Does anyone know if this is true? and if so, which areas?

Thanks, I am planning to go back to bandhavgarh in April next year.

Yes it's true, you should see that on mptourism website or madhya pradesh forest website.
I hope to go there again next year.
