Bandhavgarh hotels - please help!

Hi, I'm trying to book a hotel in Tala but am really struggling - we're trying to go budget and don't mind if it's jungle plan or booking jeeps when we get there but we're failing miserably to contact anyone. Please does anyone have contact details for KumKum Lodge or any other budget places, or any tips on how to book. Please help!!! Thanks, x

hi,
I;ve just gone out of Bandhavgarh. There is really no need to book any place in advance, because there are no many tourists there. I stayed one night in Kum Kum, but I can't reccomend it. To say the truth, it was terrible. There were 15 or 20 indian tourists, who had "party" almost whole night, so it was almost imposible to sleep. The staff claims to speak english, but they hardly understand anything. I had problems with everything there...
so I moved to Gitanjali (ph (07653)222170 or mob.94251-81742) . It was cheaper (only 250 rp), cleaner, quieter and hundrets times better. Try there and good luck in the park

I just called to the lodge you mention, Gitanjali and they booked a room for us. They are also going to arrange the visits to the park, which is quite convenient...

Chwast, where is exactly Gitanjali? in Tala or in Umaria? how did you reach the park everyday?

Thank you!!

Any idea if Gitanjali has Air Cooled or AC Rooms, since I wll be visiting in May I think it's better to opt for an Ac room.

What charges did they quote for jeep safaris ?

Hi Ronak,

don´t know about the A/C, but for the tariffs are:

700 Rps per jeep once (6 people)
2150 Rps for entry fees and guide once(6 people)
these are the fix costs to be divided by the number of persons actually going on the safari.

600 Rps per ride elephant (if you are interested in doing so)

I´m going next week, so I will let you know how was it when I´m back...

Thanks for the info. The rates (entry fees & elephant ride) are for foreigners I believe. Do post latest info.

Hi again!

Here is the info for lodging:

We stayed in Gitanjali. The room was no-AC and very very simple. In the business card are mentioned the following tariff: Double Bed: 350 Rps, but be careful because they gave us a different price and we ended up paying 550 Rps per night.
The best of this place is the owner, who is a very helpful and nice man.
Contact details: Tel. 07653-222170/222691 Mob. 94251-81742
If you can afford to pay a bit more, I would recommend GTV resort, 900 Rps double room no-AC, but really nice and brand new.
