I have been to Nagpur a while ago.
My memory is a bit hazy but there are two places I can think of. There is Navegaon National Park famous for its tigers. There is a Pench dam which is on the Madhya Pradesh-Maharashtra border.

The tadoba reserve is around 3 hours away and famous for tigers.
Dont know if you will be able to spot them in that season.

Pench National Park is 70km from Nagpur with an MTDC hotel at Syllari

The list of sanctuaries fairly close to Nagpur is also in that link.

I heard Pench National Park is one of the finest parks in India to see varied wildlife. The park is also managed quite nicely.

There are 2-3 National Parks Around Nagpur, Nearest One is Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve where You have best chance to sight a Tiger, For that first you have to go to Chandrapur, Hire A private Vehicle and visit that park. I have Done Line Transect There for WCS, Staying Facilities are ok but Park is very beautiful and less Crowded. The NExt one is Pench Tiger Reserve for that you have to go to to Sivani.

I would recommend Pench NP. If you are a nature lover, you will like it.

I am also planing to Visit Pench in this month end or Early next month.

What about weather, how accessible it is in month of Sept-oct?

What are chances of getting glimps of tigers (Mainly in this session)?

Regards
Rushi

If you are going to Nagpur, a visit to the Nagzira Wildlife Sanctuary is a must. This is a good place to visit any time of the year. It is about 122kms from Nagpur. It can also be reached by train. The nearest station is Gondia, about 45kms from Nagzira. Nagzira is a thick forest of Teak and is home to a variety of birds and animals. There is a beautiful lake bang in the center of the forest where the government has built some cottages. There is no electricity here but petromax lamps and lanterns make it a perfect jungle setting. Deer, blue bulls, bison, antelope, bonnet monkeys, jungle dogs and a variety of animals gather on the other side of the lake as dusk approaches. If you are lucky, you may even spot a bear or a leopard. We spotted leopards on both the days we were there. The one thing good here is the control on human traffic. Visiting hours for the sanctuary are from 7 am - 7 pm. Hence, when the day picnickers or the amatuer birders have all gone, the area around the lake comes alive with a variety of sounds. Smoking is prohibited in the area.
For reservations, you may contact the Deputy Conservator of Forests, Wildlife Division, Near Government Press, Nagpur.

Navegaon Sanctuary is another place worth a visit and boasts of a much larger lake than Nagzira. It is about 135kms from Nagpur. There is a beautiful log hut which overlooks the expanse of the lake but you'll have to check with the Wildlife Division at Nagpur for its availability.

Nagzira remins closed from June 16 - Sept 30

Nagzira remians closed from June 16 - Sept 30.
But it certainly is a place worth visiting.
Check out this link

I think Tadoba (Which is near Nagpur) is one of the few national parks in India which remains open in Monsoons.

Ronak.

Tadoba.... hummm

Its new for me.

I inquired at MTDC resort they are saying only 4 rooms available and which is cost 1500 par day + 10% Tax.

Any one know any other hotels/cottage which will be less expensive. We are planing to stay for 2 Night/3 Days.

I am looking for some more information about Tadoba, we will goto Wardha from Mumbai by train and they will take a Bus/Shuttle for Tadoba. (Please share some numbers/traveling tips)

Regards
Rushi
