I went to the Bharatpur bird sanctuary last year in September and enjoyed it. Spotted quite a few birds, but I dont know how that compares to any other time of the year.

In fact this is the time for people (read guides/touts/restaurents/lodges etc.) to make money. This is the time when animals mate, the grass is greener all over & everybody has a good time. Everybody loves a good rain now & then as well as makes everything adventurous. Many of the forests/sanctuaries would've long grasses so the excitement ripens. I wouldn't go into more details as it would spoil the fun of the find itself

You'll see elephants around Jaipur & along the road towards & in Amber. Not in wildlife towardsparks there though. Lots of camels the further you head west, Bikaner & Jaisalmer,You can even have a safari. And of course the camel breeding centre near Bikaner
