X visa regulations
X visa regulations
Hi, my name is Prashanth and I am married to an American citizen. We got married in 2008 and have lived in Chennai till September 2009. My wife's father died and so we decided to move to the US to help her mother. We have now lived in the US for 6 months now and are going to India on a 3 week visit in April. My question is this:- my wife got an x visa in 2008 and is valid till 2011. but now that she has been outside of India for 6 months, will she have any trouble flying into India in April for a visit?
Her time out of India does not affect the X visa's validity. You should have no issues.
On a separate note, why not get your wife a PIO card? Very simple from the US, and no worries about entry for 15 years...
