x-visa according to a company - what if the company changes?

hey there, finally i found this forum and hope somebody can help me out. Due to it is impossible to get any information on any indian embassy websites.
I got a x-visa for 6 month (still valid until the end of october07) here in india to do an internship at a certain company call A. Unfortunately the project I was working on was stopped. So I had to find a new Intern job which I did with a different company called B.
The visa includes the name of company A how can I change it to the new company B? Do I have to change it to company B?

Please help me out. Thank you so much.

The easy way or de hard way

As India is such a kafka Bureaucracy you can better make thinigs easyer for yourself. Just don't be bothered about the fact and go to the other company on the same visa. Who cares?

You can also do it the legal way, but that requires you to go back to your home country and get a whole new visa.

I know what I would do in that situation.

X-visa? or Employment visa? Strictly, X-visas are not for working, as I understand it. Maybe they don't class internship as employment.

I guess that what you should do is go to your local FRRO, with all the documents and proof of sponsorship from Company B. With a bit of luck and a lot of hard work, they might allow the transfer of employment.

I know that you cannot change your employer on an employment visa. But I dont think it will be that much of a problem for an internship on an x-visa, how would the immigration people know what you have been doing? Technically I doubt that company B should have taken you on with what amounts to an invalid visa anyway!

Do you say that because it was granted dependent on employment from company A?

yes, if the visa was issued to allow you to work for company A and it says this on the visa itself, surely you cant end up working for someone else on the same visa.

OK, thanks.

I'm wondering about this company name on visa thing. Does the OP really mean on the visa? Or on the Resident's Permit?

Is it?

I didn't realise they endorsed the visa with the name of the employer.

Thanks again.

Yeah they do it to stop ppl doing what the OP has done. Or so I thought, but why would they catch it unless you went to the FRRO for a residence permit (which requires letters from the employer, and they do check your visa there)

also, 100 posts, yesss.
