Work Visa- How long does this usually take in Canada

Hi All,

I know I could have posted this in the Visa section, but I figure it also works here in the expat area -feel free to move me - India Mike patrol

Anyway, my question, and I've searched and didn't find much info, is how long does a work visa usually take to get in Canada for India? What are other's experience as well?

I have read of people having to wait a loooong time (months) but all of them seem to working for an NGO or something.
The company that hired me is a large financial company and I have been hired as a corporate trainer for their call centre.
I read on the consulate website in Toronto that it could take 6-8 weeks

What have your experiences been??? It's not too big of deal and I am used to practicing patience when it comes to all things bureaucratic in India. But I would like to plan a little. I have to book my flight (reimbursed by the company once I arrive) and so on and so forth.
