What kinds of visa for a newly wed foreign national to oci?

HI

I am in the process of getting an oci, me and my partner will be married in January. He plans to come to India few months later, what visa should he apply for until he can apply for a pio after a years time?

He can only get a tourist visa until after your marriage.

After that he can get an Entry visa. Whist it is possible to get an Entry visa in India, after marriage on a tourist visa, it is very difficult compared to applying outside India.

We are not getting married in India, i will be going to india at the end of jan and he will come a few months later so on an entry visa, i cant find the information on that visa anywhere, what does an entry visa entitle? just residence or work too?

Ahhh... They have somewhat changed the categories in UK.

On the VFS site, look at "Long-Term Visa" on -->this page

As I say, stuff has changed since I got my "X" visa in London, but I do not think study or work is permitted. Once he gets the PIO card, he will be able to.
