what is the deal with indian visas in Bkk

looking to go to India, this new outsourcing company is making me nervous. How hard would it be for an American to get a tourist visa in Bankock,for India. I understand I may have to wait for ten days. ten days with no passport, that doesnt sound to nice in Thailand. How would I get a hotel? Maybe Nepal is better? Vietnam? What to do? The best thing is maybe be Patient, wait it out in America, get a six month visa, get my ticket, then go?

Easy, 5 days both places. You may need a letter from the US embassy. Hotels they have in Bangkok and Nepal..

so just get my ticket and go-yeah? Should I get a letter before I Go? Probably just worrying to much, its just that me and paper work dont go to well

Carry a photocopy (or two) of your passport, so if it's tied up at the Consulate, waiting for a visa, you'll at least have the passport number.

Not sure why you're so nervous about this -- plenty of US travellers get their visas by mail, so long as you allow plenty of time for this.
