What does "Passport Application under review at RPO" mean for Tatkaal Passport

Hi,
I'd applied for a Fresh passport through the Tatkaal scheme in Hyderabad at a Passport Seva Kendra. I applied on 17th September 2012. I had submitted Verification certificates from the Commissioner of Police of my district and had submitted address proofs. In a day, my application status changed to "Application has been granted and verification documents have been submitted. You will receive an SMS/email when passport is dispatched". However, on the next day, the status changed to "Passport application is under review at Regional Passport Office".

Does the change of status from "granted" to "under review" indicate a problem? I tried calling the RPO a zillion times - nobody bothers to pick up. Have any of you guys had similar experiences in Tatkaal/otherwise?

There is nothing to worry. Just have patience. You should get yours in 10 days.

Hi,
I got my passport :-) This status was there for 3 working days. On the fourth working day, the status changed to passport printed, you will get SMS when dispatched. The same evening, I got SMS reg dispatch. Got delivered the next day.

i'm subbarayudu applied for passport and completed my police verification now the status shows like "Passport application is under review at Regional Passport Office" i can't understand what it is? can any one suggest me what to do? & what it is?.....Thanking you

By what mode does the passport office dispatch the passport? is it by an ordinary post/ a Registered post/ Courier?

Passports are dispatched by speed post. No courier.

Hi all... i applied passport under normal scheme at Kanpur PSK under Lucknow PO on 11/10/12. Last week my online status changed and showing "Passport application is under review at passport office".What does it mean and after how many days can i expect to get passport in hand.

I'd applied for a Renew passport through the Normal scheme in Delhi at a Passport Seva Kendra. I applied on 17th Oct 2012. Police verification done after more than one month i.e on 24 Nov. After this the status changed to "Police Report is being reviewed at local passport office and passport will be dispatched after clear report. You will receive an SMS". Waited for one month when the status did not change then went to RPO office. They said that you will receieved passport in 25 days. On the same day they sent a objection letter and asked for marriage certificate. Two days back I submitted the same to RPO. After this my application status changed to "Application has been granted and verification documents have been submitted. You will receive an SMS/email when passport is dispatched". However, on the next day, the status changed to "Passport application is under review at Regional Passport Office".

After going through the thread I am hoping that this change of status from "granted" to "under review" is normal? Have any of you guys had different experiences in Normal/otherwise?

Normal. Most likely 2 more weeks to passport

Can any one help me in my matter, I am a student studying in different place (i.e) not at home town. I applied a fresh passport( NORMAL SCHEME) at my home town, police verification was over in my home town. But the status says "Passport Application under review at RPO" for 5 months but I have not recieved my passport Yet I have applied my passport in june 2012. What I need to do now? Thanks in advance for any suggestions
