Visas to Canadian Citizens ???
Is anyone aware of a possible lengthly delay or refusal in granting Visas to Canadian Citizens? This would stem from a recent charging of Dr. Kumar - an Indian doctor with a home in Canada being charged with stealing kidneys for the past 5 years in India. I have heard that India MAY not grant a visa to Canadian citizens wishing to visit India for medical reasons. I am supposed to be accompanying my brother in 3 weeks for spinal surgery. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
You guys are a wealth of knowledge... Last edited by machadinha : Feb 16th, 2008 at 15:58. Reason: moved to create own thread |

I don't think I have ever heard of one (alleged) criminal affecting a whole visa policy, and would be surprised if it were the case.
Where did you hear this?

Annerobyn, no, haven't heard of any such thing; I would be surprised if it were true, because the good doctor is an Indian national who was arrested in Nepal.
What has Canada to do with all this, except that he has property there?

The company that my brother is dealing with "Surgical Tourism Canada" which has NOTHING to do with kidney transplants has been having difficulties obtaining visas for their clients in the province of Ontario in Canada where the doctor lived.
the reason Canada is involved, I've been told , is that India is concerned that now all sorts of Canadians will be flocking to India to get kidney transplants, legal or otherwise. My brother is having SPINE surgery - nothing to do with kidneys... Last edited by machadinha : Feb 16th, 2008 at 15:59. Reason: merged posts |

Since you say this is happening, maybe it will blow over soon. Doesn't seem logical to me, unless the company you are talking about had dealings with him- and they didn't, from your post. |
