Visas From the Start..

I am currently studying for my A-levels at college in England. After my exams I am planning on a short trip around India before meeting my family who are visiting friends in Katmandu in Nepal.
I understand that in need Visas to travel but I am new to travelling so have no idea on what visas I need, where I get them from, how much they cost and whether I will need anything different due to traveling from India to Nepal.

Please could anyone help me with this and any links would me much appreciated!

There are many pointers in this sub forum. You can get most questions answered by patiently going through them.

Then there is Uncle Google and Aunty Bing there to help.

LOL! Love it. "Aunty Bing". Don't mind if I borrow that one.

1. List the countries you will visit/travel through.

2. Google something like "visa for British citizen visiting <country>"

That should get you some information.

Hopefully it should include the official information, which is what you really really need. Beware: there are lots of agencies that want to take your money and contribute not-very-much to getting you a visa --- I'm not saying they won't deliver, but that doing it yourself is just as easy and no slower.

Indian visas in UK are outsourced to a company called VFS. They are not an agent --- they process all India visa applications in UK for the Indian High Commission. They charge you a fee. That's outsourcing!

Between the High Commission of India Site and the VFS site, you will get the formal info. Here you will get a lot of experiences, help, encouragement.
