Visa to India for American living/working in China
A friend who holds an American passport is living and working in china and wants to go to India mid-January.
Does anyone know if there is a way for him to get a visa to India in a prompt and efficient way (like the Travisa service we use from the US to India)? He is thinking he has to travel to Hong Kong from where he is, which he could not do (because of work calendar) in time to complete a visa process before the time he would want to go to India. |

Assuming that your friend has already confirmed that HK has jurisdiction over his location in China (according the website it covers only HK and Macau), he's stuck with the HK process. Note that the link to tourist visas are reporting recent delays.
Unfortunately, using the phrase 'prompt and efficient' in the same sentence with 'India and China' just isn't a good bet...

Thanks and ha ha, I guess - he's saying more or less the same thing too - I was hoping there'd been a change.
If you hear or one - come back and tell me!! I guess ex-pats hear of things anyhow, on the other hand am aware of how much stuff China blocks on Internet - he can't use Facebook or Youtube. |
