The postal service is said to be good, but some of us just hate to see our passports disapearing into the post!

The London HCI does not try the patience too much... turn around is usually not much more than two hours. Pretty good, really

Hi, Just thought I'd update you on the visa surgery in Manchester. Got there at 9 and was out by 11
Slightly disorganised but overall pretty quick

Excellent. Thanks for reporting back.

So are you now sneaking glances at that lovely Indian visa in your passport?

Myself and my partner are going to a visa surgery tomorrow. We are not married.

Am I looking at getting single visas at £30 each or a double entry?

I am a little concerned because the HCI website is saying only postal orders and bank cheques are accepted, so I want to have to queue, get to the front, find something is wrong, then go back to to a post office.

Not sure I understand 'single...or double entry'?

Each visa is for one person only, whatever the relationship. Two people, two passports, two visas ...two times thirty quid. Plus the stiff commission to the post office on those POs!

Thanks for that - I think. I think I will just play safe. £30 plus £10 for the surgery. How aptly named!

Hi Craig352,

When you apply for your visa you must apply for two seperate visas. One for you and one for your partner.

You must have a visa in each of your passports relevant to the bearer of the concerned passport. It will cost £30 each plus the £10 surgery fee. So total cost £80 excluding your PO costs.

When you fill a visa form just request 'multiple entry' as it is the same cost as 'single entry' and once you have landed and received the stamp that is it! With the 'double entry' you can keep going to India until it expires!

Hope this helps
